Day 3, May 27 2002

Home Previous day Next day

Dawson Creek to Abbotsford (US-Canadian border), 696 miles, 13.5 hours total time including stops.

Late start, had breakfast at hotel in Dawson Creek and didn't lave till 8:30. Found a car wash first thing, car gorgeous again. Found out in passing that a Loony is a $1 coin and a Toony is a $2 coin.

Roads empty for most of the day, soon filled up with trucks as we got nearer to the US border. Sun shone all day till we came out of the mountains near Vancouver around 9 pm, then had to put roof up because of rain. Traveled south almost all day, result was that sun set a couple of hours earlier than yesterday, so drove in dark and used GPS/laptop to locate hotel for tonight. Hadn't planned to drive so far today but car was so comfortable we didn't really feel the need to stop. Staying in the Abbotsford Travellodge. Haven't quite decided what to do tomorrow, may cruise through Vancouver before we hit Seattle since we are a bit ahead of schedule, or may just make a run for the US. Stay tuned.....
