Tsiu River, August 28, 1998

August 28 1998, Tsiu River (pronounced "sigh-you"), South East Alaska, 2 hours flying time from Anchorage.

The Tsiu was an almost annual event for me when I was in Alaska, and the Silver fishing was excellent

each and every time I went. 1998 was no exception, these 6 beauties landed in the first 2 hours.

The weather can be unpredictable in this part of the country, and we ended up taking off at lunchtime,

into gale force winds and rain that seemed to come from nowhere. The fish in the picture range from 10 to 14 lbs.
